Yellow Flower Still LIfe

It's been so long i can't remember what flower this is. It was on the side of our house when we had a lot of Tiger Lilies, but they were orange. I liked that there was this little entry like a launching tube on a spaceship. The shaft had sticky nectar around it to catch pollen.

Copper River Headwaters

If you've ever seen "Copper River Salmon" on a restaurant menu or in a market then this may be where they were born. The headwaters of the Copper River originate in this valley and the valley to immediate west, with Mt. Blackburn towering in the distance at 16,390 feet.. Tanada Lake shimmers along the valley floor. Tanada Lake and Copper Lake were once the same lake, until a big alluvial fan developed in the middle. Now the lakes are separated by two miles and water from Tanada Lake has had to find another route into the Copper River.

This really cool painting on a covered slip perfectly matches the boat that is docked behind it. I think the tide was not quit right to line it up with the grounded boardwalk where the best viewpoint is, but it's super close. Notice that even the pole on the left side of the paining can be seen behind the roof. There is another boat in the covered slip.
